Most people associate the Palatinate with Pfalz wine. What many don’t realise is that there’s also a strong beer brewing tradition here. There’s nothing like a cool beer in a beer garden under a chestnut tree. The local brewers include Mayers in Oggersheim, Ottersheimer Bärenbräu and Göcklinger Hausbräu – good places to observe a traditional trade at close quarters.
