Cross the Rhine to Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe is only 30km (19 miles) from Landau. Legend has it that Margrave Charles III fell asleep here in the 18th century and dreamt of his own new city: Karl’s repose (Karls Ruhe). But with its baroque flair, Germany’s highest court and the expansive pedestrian area, it is certainly not a sleepy city.
